Japanese Word of the Week: Goodnight

Hello, friends and readers!
Today I am starting a new series on this blog (one I emailed you about) ...
the Japanese word of the week!!

This week the word is
こんばんわ
konbanwa
(kon-baan-wa)
good night

(It is good to note that for the sake of learning, all words will either be in hiragana or katakana, not kanji, so you all can better understand these two alphabets. For your convenience, I have put the hiragana and katakana charts below as well as a picture showing the difference between the alphabets.)
